What name badges actually cost.
Every price on this page is the price you pay. The resin dome is free, setup disappears at 10 badges, and shipping is free from 5. Prices exclude GST.

What is included in the badge price
Every full-colour printed badge includes all of this at no extra cost:
- Full-colour printing across a print area up to 80mm x 30mm.
- A clear resin dome. This is the durable domed coating that makes a badge survive daily wear. Plenty of suppliers charge for it. We do not.
- A pin clip fixing on the back.
- Artwork checking. We look at your file before it goes on the machine and tell you if something will not print cleanly.
- A proof. Emailed within one working day, and nothing is printed until you approve it.
Cutting to your logo shape with square or round corners is included too.
What adds to the price
Two options carry a per-badge charge.
Gold or silver metal backing
A premium metal frame around the badge. It reduces the print area to 71mm x 19mm, and the surcharge slides with volume in the same way the badge price does: $5.00 each at 1 to 4 badges, dropping through $2.00, $1.00, $0.80 and $0.60 to $0.50 each at 100 or more.
Magnetic fixing
A flat $2.00 per badge at any quantity, in place of the standard pin clip. It leaves no pinholes, which is why most uniformed teams choose it. There is a fuller comparison on our magnetic or pin page.
That is the complete list. No plate charges, no per-name charges, and no minimum order.
The setup fee, and how to avoid it
Setup is a one-off $30 covering the work of getting your artwork onto the machine correctly.
- It applies only to orders of fewer than 10 badges.
- From 10 badges up it is free, automatically.
- It never applies to a reorder where only the name changes. Come back in two years for one more badge for a new starter and there is no setup charge.
That last point matters more than it looks. Most teams order badges in waves as people join, and setup is charged once, on the first order, then never again for that artwork.
Shipping
Shipping to a single address anywhere in New Zealand is $9.00 on orders of 1 to 4 badges, and free from 5 badges up.
It is charged per order rather than per badge, and it is included in the quote we send you.
Free sample on orders of 20 or more
If you are ordering 20 badges or more, ask and we will make one badge first, free, and send it to you. Hold it, check the colours against your brand, show it to whoever signs it off, then tell us to run the rest.
It costs you nothing and it is the only way to be genuinely certain before committing to a large run. Tick the sample box on the enquiry form, or ask us through the contact form.
What we quote separately
The prices above cover full-colour printed badges with a resin dome, because that is the range where fixed pricing is honest. Some work needs a custom quote instead:
- Engraved plastic or metal badges
- A laminate finish rather than resin
- Badge sizes larger than 80mm x 30mm
- Cast metal lapel badges
- Reseller and account pricing

No. Every price shown on the site excludes GST, which is added to your quote and invoice.
Is there a minimum order?
No. We will make one badge. A single badge costs $12.00 plus the one-off $30 setup and $9.00 shipping, so $51.00 excluding GST. If you expect to need more later, ordering 10 at once is dramatically better value.
Do I pay setup again when I reorder?
Not where only the name changes. Your artwork stays on file, so a reorder for one new staff member costs the badge and the shipping with no setup charge, however long it has been.
Can I mix names, roles and colours in one order?
Yes, at no extra cost. Every badge in a run is printed individually, so each one can carry a different name and role. Send the list with your enquiry and there is no per-name charge.
Is the resin dome really free?
Yes, on every full-colour printed badge. It is the standard finish rather than an upgrade, so it is priced into the badge and never added separately.
Do you offer account or reseller pricing?
Yes. If you order badges regularly, or you are reselling to your own clients, get in touch and we will sort out pricing that reflects the volume.
